London Guildhall chooses EquiLift
The home of the Corporation of London, Guildhall has been the centre of City Government since the Middle Ages; Guildhall dates back to 1411. Today Guildhall still plays an important role in the City, providing a venue for state and civic meetings of the Corporations elected assembly.
For a historic building of this type, limited space and design features can make accessibility difficult. One area where access was a particular concern was the link between the ground level and the basement. To overcome this problem, the Corporation chose to fit an EquiLift Vector Lifting Platform. EquiLift were selected because not only did their product meet with the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act, but the wide choice of finishes available for the Vector meant that once fitted it would be unobtrusive and add to the ambience of the building.
The Vector was tailored for Guildhall with an Olive Green RAL colour framework that matched the colour scheme within the building with glazed panels on the enclosure to provide a feeling of light and space.
The Vector Lift can travel between 1 and 4 floors, up to a maximum of 12m and is one of a wide range of lifting platforms available from EquiLift. |
