Erewash Housing Chooses EquiLift Lifting Platform
Romorantin Place in Derbyshire is home to 30 elderly persons. The complex provides independent living for residents, with the added security of having a warden at hand. In line with the centre’s philosophy for independent living, they have chosen to install an EquiLift "Vector" Vertical Lifting Platform. The lift links the two storey buildings so that residents can independently access the upper level community room from the lower residential area.
Mr Graham Smith, Senior Technical Officer for Erewash Housing Limited, said: "We are very happy with the installation. We have used EquiLift for various projects and are delighted with this latest installation. The unit is easy to operate and as a result has improved the resident’s self-reliance and ability to move around the building without assistance."
Although designed for independent use, the Vector can also accommodate an attendant, if needed. The maximum capacity is 630kg. For convenient accessibility automatic door openers provide access to the platform, once inside control is achieved by constant pressure buttons. Key switches prevent unauthorised use. The unit makes maximum use of space with no motor room required. A 50mm deep lift pit can be substituted by a ramp where necessary. |
