Case study London Guildhall chooses EquiLift
|
||||||
London Guildhall chooses EquiLiftThe home of the Corporation of London, Guildhall has recently had an EquiLift Vector vertical wheelchair lift installed. Guildhall has been the centre of City Government since the Middle Ages and dates back to 1411. For a historic building of this type, limited space and design features can make accessibility difficult. One area where disabled access was a particular concern was the link between the ground level and the basement. To overcome this problem, the Corporation chose to fit a EquiLift Vector vertical platform lift. EquiLift were selected because not only did their disabled access lift meet with the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act, but the wide choice of finishes available for the Vector meant that once the lift was fitted it would be unobtrusive and add to the ambience of the building. The wheelchair lift was tailored for Guildhall with an Olive Green RAL colour framework that matched the colour scheme within the building with glazed panels on the enclosure to provide a feeling of light and space. The Vector lifting platform can travel between 1 and 4 floors, up to a maximum of 12m and is one of a wide range of wheelchair platform lifts available from EquiLift. |
